Alyssa’s Album Story

I was born blind, and as a child, I struggled with knowing if I was beautiful. When I was 13 years old, I wrote my first song called, Beautiful when I was in the shower. The song was the conclusion to the question I kept asking myself, “Am I beautiful?“ My friend Ashton wrote the music, and we played the song for our High School. Now 20 years later, Ashton and I had the opportunity to record a Christian worship album featuring the song Beautiful. This album is a dream come true and I am so excited that it’s finally happening.

The album title is, ‘God Is Still Good.’ All of the new songs come out of a place of deep suffering and dependence on God. About 2 years ago I was diagnosed with Kidney failure. And in the middle of my kidney failure, I became pregnant. My baby boy Noah was born premature and his life is a miracle. Then after Noah and I recovered my friend Ashton and I sensed from God it was time to finally record our worship album. 2 days after recording my album, I found out that I had a kidney donor and received a kidney transplant. It’s only by the grace of God I get up every day and I am so thankful for my family and the blessings in my life. I pray this album shows you not to waste your suffering and to see the goodness of God even in the painful, dark, and trying times of your life.
